origin of leather
The leather for our accessories comes from a traditional, family-run tannery in Thailand now in its fourth generation. It holds numerous certifications, including the Silver rating from the Leather Working Group. This certificate reflects high standards in energy consumption, waste management, water usage, chemical handling, and labor conditions. The hides used are exclusively sourced from the food industry, primarily from the UK, and are fully traceable back to the farm where the animals lived. The tannery is also SA8000 certified, which confirms adherence to high social standards and ethical practices.
We have been working with this tannery, located just outside Bangkok, for over 10 years. Their commitment to quality and sustainability has aligned with our values from the very beginning. Additionally, the proximity to our factory ensures short transportation routes. The direct collaboration with the tannery also allows us to commission the type and colors of the leather exactly as we wish, rather than purchasing "off-the-shelf" leather.
types of leather
Our leather is high-quality cowhide, known as full-grain leather. This term means that the natural surface of the leather, the so-called grain, is fully preserved—with all its small imperfections and unique characteristics. Unlike embossed leather, full-grain leather remains untreated, allowing it to retain its natural texture and offering exceptional durability and strength.
Our leather is semi-aniline, which means it receives a light protective coating. This finish doesn’t conceal the natural grain pattern of the hide; instead, it makes the leather more resistant to stains and wear, without compromising its natural look and feel.

We use naturally milled Nappa leather, which has a soft, supple feel and a lightly textured surface. This texture is created through a process called "milling," where the leather is worked in drums to highlight the natural grain structure and give it its characteristic soft texture.
Additionally, we offer semi-vegetable tanned leather. This leather is tanned 80% with plant-based tannins, with a small amount of chemical tannins used to make the leather more tear-resistant and softer than purely vegetable-tanned leather. This leather is smoother and develops a beautiful patina over time, making each beloved piece even more unique.
Since 2025, we also offer some colors in embossed leather. This leather is less natural than full-grain leather, but it is more form-stable and durable. The fine embossing hides small imperfections in the natural grain, resulting in a more uniform texture.
